provide information on what your entire system in operation is doing to the pack. A binding servo causes an excessive "load" that can cause an unexpected power failure shortly into a flight. A switch could be going bad or an intermittant RX problem could be occurring. Any number of things can go wrong with a battery pack or radio system that causes a disaster if not warned in time. In "real-time" the Gem 2000 will detect and alert you to most of these potential problems during a pre-flight check. And if a battery pack problem develops during flight, it will alert you in time to safely land. less...

indicates RX "on/off" status. An exceptionally brilliant LED indicates a "Go/No Go" status during pre-operational safety check. In-flight it continually advises on the condition of the battery pack and advises when it is time to land. For vehicles and boats it warns of low battery pack condition to help eliminate runaways. Superior to using an external battery checker or meter because it is continually watching what the onboard system "load" factor is doing to the health of the battery pack. Warns of unnecessary and excessive "loading" on the pack due to servo stalling, binding and jamming. Comes factory calibrated for all popular battery packs ranging from 4.8v to 7.4 volts. pilots either time their flights or listen for the motor performance to change. ESCs with factory preset "soft" cutouts are typically set to activate at 3v per series cell which often doesn't give enought time to react and land safely. Timing a flight is often inaccurate because of changing conditions and listening for performance change is a pain. Flying is much more enjoyable when you don't have to be concerned with timing or trying to listen for the motor to change pitch. The LVS 32 allows you to safely milk every bit of juice possible from a LiPo pack giving you maximum flying time on every flight regardless of changing conditions and flying styles. When power is connected the LVS 32's LED briefly flashes to verify it's operating and has gone into monitoring "standby" mode. On "A/V" unit styles, both a brief flash and audible tone are emitted. During flight the LVS 32 is on "active standby" drawing only a few micro-amps. In "active standby" it continually monitors voltage and what effect the system "load" is have on the pack's health. When the voltage weakens and drops to the preset threshold, the alert is activated which means under that "load" condition you have about 25% of your flying time left. If the "load" is reduced enough, the alert will subside until the threshold is reached again. When the alert remains "steady on"... there's nothing to think or worry about. There's more than adequate time for a safe full power-on landing. The LVS 32 pays for itself on every flight by maximizing flight time without the nuisance of flight timing and listening. All guesswork and battery pack worry is eliminated.

Usage: Sends out a loud piercing sound from downed aircraft in difficult to access terrain enabling quick locating/retrieval.
Description: Often an aircraft is either temporarily or permanently lost because it unexpectedly went down in areas that are difficult to access such as corn fields, woodlands and swamplands. You can spend hours and hours looking, even walk right by it several times and eventually give up in frustration. Let the SOS find it for you. Choose your model...
ERC makes several ELT instruments to choose from. Fixed or adjustable time type and the "missing pulse" type. Respectively they are named the SOS I, II & III. The fixed time instruments are as simple as turning it on and pushing an arming button. Easier yet, for the missing pulse type, when you're looking for your "pride and joy", just turn off the TX and it automatically begins its piercing high pitched alert.
Enables a modeler to quickly locate a downed aircraft in rough terrain via a piercing audible alert signal. It's rugged compact SMT design consists of an IC timer chip, an on/off switch, a remote mounted arming PB Switch, an external 86db piezo sounder and 9v battery cap. Since Rx battery packs sometimes disconnect on impact, an independent 9v battery is an advantageous feature.
Operation is simple. After the pre-flight check, turn the SOS power switch on and you will hear an audible signal indicating Active Standby status. Push the auto timing button when you're ready to taxi out to begin an auto timeout cycle of approximately 18 minutes at which time a continuous piercing signal can be heard from at least 100 ft. away. To deactivate, either push the PB switch again or turn off the power switch. Easy 5 minute installation. PCB is enclosed in a mini high impact ABS case designed to protect against impact shock, severe vibration, moisture and fuel.
Functions exactly as the SOS Alert I. The only difference is the timer. Instead of timing out for a fixed amount of time, it's user programmable over a range of 12 to 22 minutes. It's programmed via a PCB mounted micro-pot that easily adjusts with only a medium small slothead screwdriver. It's powered by 9 volt Alkaline battery and protected from the elements within a mini high impact ABS module. Its rugged SMT design lends to its high resistance to impact shock, severe vibration, moisture and fuel.
The SOS III works on a principle known as MPD (missing pulse detection). It continuously monitors the train of signal pulses sent out by the TX (transmitter). If the signal is lost or interrupted longer than 5 seconds, it automatically sounds a loud constant alert from an internal piezo element. The alert ceases when the signal is regained or the RX power switch is turned off. The SOS III and its 86db constant piezo are well protected from the elements. It's designed to be reliable through a variety of abusive conditions such as shock from a strong impact, severe vibration, moisture and fuel. The SOS III plugs into a free or "Y's" into a used RX (receiver) channel slot. No current is used until the unit activates. Other than the power lead, there are no other external wires or parts.
NOTE: An optional aux input can be ordered and added to the SOS III. The aux input will accommodate any number of off the shelf sounders. ERC makes a special self-powered warbling 120db ear splitting sounder called the Mighty Mite Alarm designed to plug into this input. Or, you may opt for an ERC special Ultra-Bright LED lead to either plug into the input or even "Y" into the external Piezo sounder providing both audio and visual warning for after sunset mishaps.
Same as the SOS III, but emits a 108db warbling alert.

Desciption: Solid glowing or flashing LED lets you know pack on/off status from 100 ft. away. What RC'er hasn't left the Rx switch on accidentally and went to fly only to find a dead pack? Never Again! The Pilot-Lite plugs or "Y's" into any Rx slot. A quick glance from up to 100 ft. lets you know pack on/off status via a solid glowing or flashing LED. Choose from 5 different solid glowing LEDs or flashing Ruby Red. Very easy install - drill 1/4" hole in any visible surface location, insert LED clip and snap in LED. Comes with 6" lead with universal plug or choose any length desired. Current draw is not enough to notice with any pack voltage. Compatible with all Radio Systems and battery chemistries.
Desciption: The LFI alert is a simple effectively accurate fuel monitoring instrument designed to warn of a low fuel condition during the pre-flight check and especially in-flight. A single lead extends from the unit's case and terminates in 2 insulated fuel probes that are inserted into any size fuel tank through pressure seals. If probes are installed on the tank top, the fuel level warning is adjustable. One probe pushes to the bottom, the other to the desired warning level. The LFI senses the resistance of the fuel via contact with both probes which is monitored by a super brilliant LED indicator flashing quickly at about 5-6 pulses per second. When fuel is absent the flash rate instantly and noticeably drops to 1 pulse per second. Probes are insulated to prevent false indications from ordinary fuel sloshing. Warns for all blends of "nitro fuel". Fuel probes come in several lengths to accommodate any size and shape tank and the probe lead is 15" standard which can easily be shortened or lengthened, if desired.

More Info: It is a well-known fact that the notorious "weak link" in the RC system is the "on/off" switch. Countless crashes continue to occur from this culprit. That's why there are so many after market so-called "Heavy Duty" switches on the market. Unfortunately, more...
the words "Heavy Duty" are construed by many to mean "high quality". Such is rarely the case. Heavy Duty simply means 26 AWG standard servo wire has been substituted with 22 AWG. The internal workings are generally the same as in a cheap slide switch. Cosmetically, they may appear to be of better quality, and the charge wire may be integratrated for convenience, but it's still the "weak link". Even the fail-safe type continuous flow current switches that fail in the "on" position are not the most desirable solution to the problem because they too are slide switches that are prone to failure and have to be replaced. The best solution to the problem is developing a switch that is made to absolutely minimize any chance of failure in the first place. Doesn't that make the most sense? Since Rocker-style switches are far superior to the slide-type switches that come with all RC radio systems today, we located a rocker switch that has been used for years in jet instrument panels. With a few modifications we turned it into an RC Heavy Duty combination Charge Switch Harness. It's of military grade quality and we modified it to withstand the most abusive flying conditions possible, including severe vibration problems often associated with helicopters. The wire leads are extremely well connected and protected to the point they can't be pulled out of the switch. Over the past decade since its introduction, there has yet to be a crash of any aircraft because of a SuperRocker failure. With RC slide switches, it is prudent and wise to replace them every couple of years or so. But once a SuperRocker is installed, you'll not have to be concerned with ever replacing it regardless of how long it is on duty or how much abuse your airplane or helicopter undergoes.

More Info: When installing a radio system in a scale aircraft or water related model, a conventional RC switch is usually undesirable and/or impractical. With that in mind, we set about the task of developing an RC Charge Switch that would more...
not detract from a scale model's appearance or cause problems in watercraft like standard switches so often do. We located a one of a kind latching reed switch that is currently only manufactured by one company in the world. Reed switches have been around for over 50 years, but never one that would or even could latch on through severe vibration and hard impacts. The manufacturer was able to make a slight change in order to meet our criteria. This enabled us to design and develop a practical RC Heavy Duty Charge Switch. But before releasing it to the RC community, it was put through weeks of rigorous, strenuous and severe testing procedures. For a heat and vibration test, it was attached directly to an engine cylinder head with an inch of the prop broken off. Similar tests with various conditions and configurations were conducted repeatedly and no failures occured. The switch was mounted in various aircraft which were put through a series of rough landings and various degrees of impacts ranging from slight to severe. It passed each and every test thrown at it with flying colors. This verified the claims made by the manufacturer of the basic component which gave us the confidence and green light to proceed and introduce this remarkable switch to the RC community back in 2001. Over the past decade, the InvisiSwitch has gained widespread acceptance and praise from amateur and pro scalers alike throughout the world. There are two well known custom boat manufacturers currently building the InvisiSwitch into their boat hulls on request. So, whether you're into flying scale airplanes and helicopters or pleasure, sail, tug or racing boats, if you don't want the switch to show, you'll love and be amazed by the uniqueness and performance of the "InvisiSwitch".

high impact ABS plastic case enclosure. Power and Relay leads are 6" in length and plug into an ERC lighting kit's aux power input and switching circuit input. The IR sensor is also on a 6" lead. It looks and mounts like a standard 5mm round LED in a plastic clip holder.
Unlike micro or digital electronic switches that allow remote on/off operation from the TX (transmitter) by using a dedicated RX (receiver) channel slot for power and control, the SmartSwitch taps directly into the aux power input of an ERC lighting system for it's power source. This is a major advantage for controlling nav lights on a model with limited RX channel slots. less...

activate an RC car's headlights when it's becoming dusk. If a cloud should pass by temporarily blocking out the sunlight, the IR sensor would sense the lighting condition change and immediately respond by turning the lights on until the direct sunlight reappears and the sensor turns them off again. Or you can program the lights to be off during an overcast day and turn on at dusk.
Another example: You're flying an RC aircraft equipped with ERC nav lights. FAA Regs require the rotating red beacon to be on only during daylight hours. An ERC nav lighting kit is designed to have the beacon on when the RX switch is on. The nav position lights can be remotely operated from either the TX with an optional ERC remote TX switch or via the SmartSwitch. The SmartSwitch can be programmed to automatically turn on the nav position lights and AC Strobes as the sunlight fades into dusk or dark clouds move in dimming the sky.
No installation required. Just plug the SmartSwitch into an ERC lighting system aux input and the relay lead into a switching input. The module is small enough to fit most anywhere. Soft mounting is not necessary. Just secure the module on a hard surface with attached servo tape and/or Velcro. The IR phototransistor looks like a 5mm round LED and easily mounts like one through a 1/4" hole with the enclosed plastic LED clip. Although it comes in the package pre-programmed for a typical sunny day, it can be quickly adjusted to any lighting condition setting via a micro-pot easily accessed through it's ABS case. A complete User's Guide is included in the packaging.

airplanes and helicopters. The dual outputs of the micro-processor are reversible via a built-in PN Shift switch on the PCB. There are two types of outputs for versatility. One is a Relay designed for making or breaking a circuit connection. The other is a MOSFET output that supplies dc power directly from an RX channel slot to control a variety of RC accessories. Depending on application, connectors are either JR/Hitec (Universal S), Dean's gold pin or a combination of both. The DSWS is shock, vibration, water and fuel proof.
There are two models of the ERC DigiSwitch indicated by the suffix S or D. The letters represent Single or Dual Operation. The S model has dual outputs for versatility. The PN Shift control switch allows for for reversing TX control switch operation. This is a very practical convenience. It's particularly useful for setting up TX gimble stick positioning for Landing Lights on an aircraft. The entire circuitry is protected by a compact high impact ABS case. A 3mm blue pilot LED indicates on/off status. There's also a 3mm LED to indicate programming set points. The DSWS is user programmable via a micro-pot easily accessible through an 1/8" hole in the top of the case. A small screwdriver is all that is necessary.
The "S" model is designed for single circuitry control, meaning it will turn all the lights in one switchable circuit on and off in a lighting kit. ERC lighting kits have up to 3 independent switchable circuit inputs. Each circuit can be independently turned on and off by the TX at will by a DigiSwitch-S plugged into a controlled circuit's switch input.
On an aircraft, the DSWS can be plugged into the throttle channel which is operated by a gimble "stick". It can be user programmed to turn the landing lights on and off according to "stick" position. If the lights come on at low throttle, simply flip the DSWS shift switch to reverse the action.
The "S" model can also be plugged directly into an RX slot and then the RC accessory or lighting kit plugs directly into the switch. This means the RX is directly supplying power to the accessory or lighting kit and the DSWS turns this power on and off remotely via the TX. Several of the ERC lighting kits for air, land and sea craft have one or more remote switchable control inputs that can switch lights on and off via a TX channel switch and the DigiSwitch-S.
Model Type: Airplanes, Jets, Helicopters, Vehicles, Marine Craft
Voltage Range: 4-15v, 1.2 amp max
LEDs: Three Indicators - 1 Pilot and 2 Independent Programming
Connector: One JR/Hitec (Universal "S"), two Dean's 2 pin gold
Style: High impact ABS case or plastisized rubber dip or mil grade shrink wrap
Usage: Digital electronic switch designed for TX remote control of TWO separate RC accessories up to 15vdc and 3A max input. Specifically designed for ERC lighting kits to independently control two separate switchable circuits using only one RX channel slot.
Description: The DigiSwitch-D is a dual operation micro-processor based electronic control switch. It has been specifically designed to be used with ERC scale lighting kits with multiple switching inputs such as independent nav and landing light circuits for airplanes, jets and helicopters. Three 3mm LEDs indicate the power on/off status and the two individual circuit set points. The DSWD is user friendly and does not require connection to a computer for programming.
More Info: There are two models of the ERC DigiSwitch indicated by the suffix S or D. The letters represent Single & Dual Operation. The 'D' model has two relay type outputs designed to make or break either the positive or negative rail of a circuit. The PCB is open faced and it's circuitry is more...
protected by a plastisized rubber waterproof coating. If requested, it can also be wrapped with mil grade shrink. A 3mm blue LED indicates the on/off status. Two other different colored 3mm LEDs indicate programming set points. The DSWD is user friendly. It's easy to program the set points via a separate micro-pot for each output. A medium small slothead screwdriver is all that is necessary.
The D model PCB comes in two sizes to accommodate compact spaces in smaller models. Either 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" or a 1" x 3" PCB. Its rugged design makes it shock, vibration, water and fuel proof.
The "D" model is designed for dual circuitry control meaning it will turn all the lights on or off in two independent switchable circuits with the advantage of using only one unused RX channel slot controlled by a 3 position toggle switch or rotary knob on the TX.
ERC lighting kits have up to 3 independent switchable circuit inputs. For example: An RC airplane or jet can be equipped with an ERC scale lighting system that has separate switchable circuits for the Nav (aka: Position or Marker) Lights, Landing Lights and AC Strobes. Controlling each circuit independently would only require two of the DigiSwitches. One S (Single Op) and one D (dual Op) model utilizing only two RX channel slots. Another example would be an RC heli outfitted with an ERC nav lighting system featuring 3 switchable circuits for the nav and landing lights along with an ERC scaled out Night Sun spotlight. Each circuit would be controlled at will via the TX and just two of the DigiSwitches.
Several of the ERC lighting kits for air, land and sea craft have one or more remote switchable circuit inputs that can switch lights on and off via a TX channel switch and an S or D model DigiSwitch. Using a Dual Op alone or in conjunction with a Single Op DigiSwitch saves channel space and is more economical than using three separate switches.
Model Type: Airplanes, Jets, Helicopters, Vehicles, Marine Craft
Voltage Range: 4-8vdc
LEDs: None
Connector: One JR/Hitec (Universal "S"), one Dean's 2 pin gold
Style: Single Micro snap lever switch integrated with Micro Servo
Usage: Substitutes for the digital electronic single operation switch used to control an ERC lighting system's on/off function. Not as versatile as its high tech digital cousin, but more economical.
Description: This switch consists of a snap lever switch that's been integrated with a name brand high quality micro servo which is plugged into any free RX channel slot. When the appropriate TX switch is activated, the transmitted signal causes the servo's control horn to engage the switch for remote on/off operation of the selected switchable circuit in an ERC scale lighting kit. The MSWS is specifically designed for relay make/break type of circuitry.
More Info: A miniature snap lever switch integrated with a micro servo has a threaded brass "ball stud" screwed into the end of the servo horn. The stud is adjusted so that when it passes over the lever of the snap switch that's attached to the side of the servo it more...
depresses it just enough to activate the relay switch and open or close a switchable circuit. The servo horn's direction can be changed via the RX channel's reversing switch on the TX. The MSWS has a three conductor lead that plugs into one of the RX's spare (free) channel slots which supplies both power and signal. Any type of aux channel switch on the TX can be selected for control. The second lead plugs into a relay type switchable circuit in a lighting system's control module. On an airplane, jet or helicopter it's quite common to use the "Gear"toggle switch (channel 5) if it's free. The MSWS can be secuely mounted with either the supplied screws or double sided (servo) tape. This is a reliable, yet economical method to remotely turn lights on and off from the TX at will. Can also be used to control ERC light kits for vehicles and watercraft.

Usage: Substitutes for the digital electronic dual operation switch used to control two individual switchable circuits of an ERC lighting system.
Description: This switch consists of two snap lever switches that have been integrated with a name brand high quality micro servo which is plugged into any free RX channel slot. This design allows a single free RX channel slot to control two individual circuits in a lighting system.

that only one free RX channel slot is needed to perform two separate actions.
The MSWD is specifically designed for ERC's relay make/break type of circuitry. For example: On an ERC Nav Lighting system the Nav (aka Position or Marker) lights and Landing Lights are on two seperate switchable circuits, each having its own switch input. A 3 position TX toggle switch controls an off and two on positions that can be used for the nav and landing lights individually. The MSWD would be programmed as follows: Position #1, lights off. Position #2 would turn on the red, green and white (if applicable) Nav Marker Lights and AC Strobes. Position #3 turns on the Landing Lights and vice versa. This would also apply when you're programming for a channel controlled by a rotary knob on the TX. Since the Nav Lights and AC Strobes normally preceed the Landing Lights, as the rotary knob is turned clockwise the Navs and ACS light up first followed by the Landing Lights. Turning the rotary knob ccw turns off the Landin Lights first followed by the Navs.
Although not as versatile as its high tech digital cousin, the MSWD is more economical for controlling two circuits versus using two separate micro switches.

Pro and recreational navigational lighting systems for any size aircraft
Configuration Options: Several Maxi-Lites light kit configurations are available. We also custom design most anything you can dream up and then build it to your required specifications.
Description: The Maxi-Lites kits are our premium nav lighting systems designed to add realistic lighting F/X to scale, competition and recreational RC aircraft up to 100 inch wingspans. They're full featured, versatile LED lighting systems with super brilliant LEDs that are daylight visible making orientation easier at longer distances. Maxi-Lites Pro kits extend daytime flying into twilight and beyond. They make nighttime flying not only easy, but a real blast!
The Maxi-Lites system has 12 inputs all clearly labeled on the case topside for their lighting, switching or aux function. All LED lighting harnesses are completely pre-wired to specs and are ready to simply plug into the MCU. No soldering is required. A comprehensive User's Guide for reference and installation is included. more...
The heart of the system is the MCU (Master Control Unit) which is a compact, ABS enclosed module using precision SMT components and design. Multiple IC micro-chips are used in the design of the 3 independent flashing circuits. Independent flashing circuits allow the user to program the Rate (speed) and Duty-Cycle (on vs. off timing) separately for a variety of flash patterns and sequencing. This design permits one, two or all three flashing circuits to flash in sync, non-sync or any combination for more realistic F/X. The module has 12 inputs that accommodate plug-in type LED harnesses, switches and ERC accessory modules. The MCU will handle up to a total of 36 LEDs.
The Maxi-Lites system has 12 inputs all clearly labeled on the case topside for their lighting, switching or
aux function. They are as follows:
- 5 solid glowing for Nav, Landing, Spot (or aux lighting)
- 3 independent flashing for Beacon, Belly Strobe, AC Strobes (Anti-Collision)
- 3 for external remote switching of Nav, Landing, Spot or Aux. Lighting
- 1 for Aux. Power to supply power for ERC accessories, monitoring or extra lighting
The MCU is well protected against shock, vibration, moisture and fuel. Since LEDs require only 1/10th the power of incandescent bulbs, the system can be connected directly to the RX for its power. Another advantage of LED technology is that the diodes burn very cool and no special care has to be taken in installation. In addition, the light housing is made of epoxy making LEDs very rugged and not likely to break like incandescent bulbs. If preferred, a small mAH pack with a charge switch can also be used for supply power. Optimal lighting is achieved with a 6.0 to 7.4v supply.
All flashing circuits are single sequencing. However, an ERC accessory module can be ordered that plugs into any of the strobing inputs that allows you to program from 1 to 10 flashes per sequence. Interior and Panel lighting modules are available for that extra scale touch.
Adding an Automatic Ambient On/Off Control Switch
All kits can be ordered with an ERC SmartSwitch (DigiSwitch-S will be substituted for the DigiSwitch-D) for automatic light-sensing on/off control of the nav lights and independent remote control of the landing lights.

The LEDs used in ERC lighting systems are #10 bin diodes which is the highest rating given to LEDs. This means they're matched for brilliance, color, clarity and quality.
When comparing LEDs for true brightness output, it's buyer beware! Many companies boast of their diodes having extraordinary mcd (luminosity) ratings. These are often false claims made for a competitive edge in marketing.
Even if the claims are true, mcd ratings are misleading. The mcd rating is a relative measurement of an LED's brightness, but doesn't tell you the more important fact of how much light is really being output. This rating is measured in lumens which is the true amount of light the LED is actually producing.

Full-featured scale lighting system for RC vehicles
Description: Trick out your RC with #10 bin state-of-the-art 5mm Mega-Brite LEDs, Action Brake Lights and any other optional bling you can imagine all controlled from one Master Control Unit (MCU). Whether used for kicks or scale competition, TMX Kar-Lites add an extra dimension of fun and realism that extend driving time into darkness.
Options: Ground FX, KC lights, emergency strobe(s), police lights, interior lights, turn signals, sonic back-up lights, parking lights, siren and any other bling you can imagine can be yours. All "ss" kits have an ERC SmartSwitch built in for automatic ambient light-sensing on/off control.
Details: TMX KarLites is a uniquely crafted LED vehicle scale lighting kit designed for today’s scale on/off road nitro/gas electric cars and trucks. Compact and full of features, its rugged design is able to withstand tremendous abuse and operate trouble free in all environmental conditions. The heart of the system is enclosed within a high impact ABS case and protected from problems caused by dirt, mud, moisture/water, nitro fuel and gas. Its modular design allows an RCer to buy the controller, lights and accessories separately or together as a kit. One controller can be used to operate several lighted body shells, if desired. more...
The Master Control unit (MCU) has 9 lighting inputs that will handle over 3 dozen Mega-Brite LEDs. The six main lighting inputs are TX remote switchable. Two other inputs are Aux. power type to supply direct plug in LED harnesses or Accessory modules with continuous power. A third Aux. power input is also TX remote switchable. There are five built in circuitry options available. The first is a mercury switch that during deceleration simulates brake lights by intensifying the tail lights by 300%. The second is an Infra Red switch that automatically turns main lights (except brake lights) on/off according to the ambient light conditions for which it is easily user programmed. Example: if the sun becomes temporarily blocked by a cloud, the lights switch on and then off when it passes by. At dusk, the lights switch on automatically. The IR switch can also be adjusted for continuous "on". The other options are Power & Electronic systems monitoring, Low Fuel monitoring or all three. The MCU label clearly identifies all inputs by category and function. Main Lights: Head, Tail & Fog. Aux Lights: Additional Head, Tail, Fog, Running Lights for trucks and Undercarriage Lights. Several accessories are available: KC Lights, Emergency Strobe(s), Police Lights, Interior Lights, Turn Signals, Sonic Back-up Lights, Parking Lights and Siren. These are optional modules that plug into inputs labeled "AC" accessories.
The system operates on a voltage range from 4 to 10 volts. Since LEDs only use 1/10th the power of incandescent bulbs, the MCU can be plugged directly into any spare RX slot or use a "Y" adapter to plug into a used slot and barely change drive time duration. LEDs are far more rugged than regular filament bulbs and will withstand a lot of abuse and burn cool for 100,000 hours plus.
Several pre-configured kits are available. Or, we can custom design anything you can dream up and build it to your required specifications. See options and details above for possibilities.

Miniature lighting system for RC vehicles
Description:
Mini KarLites is a basic miniature 5mm LED lighting kit designed to fit up to 1/8th scale vehicles.
Micro KarLites is a basic miniature 3mm LED lighting kit designed to fit up to 1/18th scale vehicles.
Both are designed for the economy-minded RC'er that just wants to add a basic lighting configuration with exceptionally brilliant LEDs to on and off road vehicles and are not interested in add-ons or extra features. Just brilliant day and night driving lights!
Their compact, lightweight design is built to withstand extreme shock, vibration and be completely fuel and moisture resistant. The mil grade shrink-enclosed PCB will endure the most extreme abuse. A uniquely exclusive ERC feature is the optionally available built-in motion switch that turns the tail lights into simulated action brake lights. When decelerating the switch is activated and intensifies the already bright red tail lights by 300%. Also built-in is an external switch input for manual, remote or automatic on/off control. To power the system, just plug into a spare or "Y" adapt into a used RX slot. The current drain is so slight that any change in driving time is negligible at best.
The LED lights are pre-wired paired harnesses for easy, quick installation. The kit includes square-shaped flush mount type light dispursing LED colored lens cover/holders for tail and fog lights. Chrome metal LED reflector/holders are provided for the headlights which provide a 30 degree wide 50 foot beam. All LEDs are classified as #10 bin (highest quality rating) ultra-bright diodes and have a life expectancy of 100K+ hours. LEDs burn cool using only 1/10th the power of incandescent bulbs and unlike incandescents LED epoxy lenses are extremely rugged and durable. Bundled into the kit is an installation hardware package and complete instructions.
Several pre-configured kits are available. Mini KarLites are 5mm LED systems. Micro KarLites are 3mm LED systems. Or, we can custom design anything you can dream up and build it to your required specifications. See options and details above for possibilities. Remote TX on/off switchable with a built-in ERC DigiSwitch or ERC MicroSwitch, or automatic light-sensing on/off control with a built-in ERC SmartSwitch.

Dimensions: 2.5" x 1.25", circumference = 1.927" (635mm x 31.75mm, circumference = 99.75mm)
Usage: Canister style spotlight for helicopters providing real scale appearance and extremely powerful lighting FX.
Description: ERC's Night Sun spotlight canister is a handcrafted standoff scale replica of one of the model Night Suns that is found on full scale police and military helicopters. It puts out an astonishingly brilliant 17 Lumens of a 50+ foot beam of narrowly focused light. Caution! Do not look directly into the beam. In addition to being a spotlight, it practically turns the landing zone of a runway into daytime which makes a great landing light for night flying.
More Info: The Night Sun's canister housing is made of a rugged composite material. It's finished with a combination of acrylic and poly-urethane black satin paint that is slightly textured. The canister shaft and bracket are lightweight aluminum and the reflector is made of lightweight chromed plastic. Simulated more...
motor and lighting cables and tie downs add to the overall scale appearance. The canister actually moves 60 degrees on its vertical axis and a full 360 degrees around its horizontal axis. The lighting can be on/off controlled from the TX by plugging an electronic switch into either the lighting system's controller module or by plugging the switch directly into a spare RX channel slot. ERC makes electronic switches, however any electronic switch that has a voltage output will work. If using in conjunction with an ERC Maxi-Lites nav lighting system, there's a switchable input in the MCU designed for a spotlight. The spot can be moved manually and is designed to hold its position. However, for additional scale FX, the canister has been designed to enable skilled RC scale modelers to motorize it with servos. Using electronic switches, both vertical and horizontal rotation can be remotely operated from the TX. An LED current-limiting resistor is built into the Night Sun so that any 4-8 volt pack can be used to supply power. The Night Sun, with nearly 4 watts of output, is current draining. If your model is powered by a high current pack, such as 4-5K mAH, it can be powered by plugging into the RX. If not, then it is wise to power it with a separate auxiliary pack with a charge switch incorporated. The current drain is approximately 530ma @ 7.4v. Therefore it is recommended a 7.2v Li-Ion or 7.4v LiPo 1,000 mAH pack be considered. These Lithium chemistry packs are relatively lightweight and have a flat discharge curve which will provide over 1 1/2 hours of dependable, solid lighting. The higher voltage will also deliver optimum brilliance.
Whether you fly sport or scale, the Night Sun is a great and fun addition to any helicopter. It's crowd pleasing, show stopping and incredibly brilliant!
Installation: The bracket shaft is designed to be inserted through a grooved rubber grommet. For a snug fit, drill a 5/16" hole through a 1/8" or less surface. Work the grommet in until the groove is seated properly all around both sides. A snug fit allows the Night Sun to swivel on its horizontal axis without moving on its own from vibration. There are two wires exiting the Night Sun. The one with the Dean's plug is the power lead and plugs into input #10 of the MCU module. The heavier gauge wire is non-functional and is there for aesthetics only. It's actually the power cable that controls the full scale Night Sun's positioning motors. Notice these two wires are also inserted through a grooved grommet requiring a 5/16” hole.
NOTE: To clean, use only soap & water and a soft cloth. Never use a paper product on the clear plastic lens. Paper, tissue, etc. will eventually dull the lens with micro scratches.
